AVT Natural products Ltd (AVT NPL) has won the SME of the year Emerging India award in FMCG, Food and Agri – Business category. The award was presented to the company at a function held in Mumbai.

AVT NPL won the award in the fiercely competitive “FMCG, food and agri – business category because of the significant value creation for all the stakeholders of the company - customers, employees, farmers as suppliers of raw material, society at large, and shareholders.

The company posted a sales turnover of Rs 72 crore with a PAT of Rs 7.5 crore, the success of the company is attributable to the strategic alliance it has forged with world – class companies with global presence and access to unique technologies.

The “ contract farming” model for growing marigold flowers in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh , Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh with the objective of improving the net farm returns and controlling the quality at source was another critical success factor of the company

AVT Naturals have shared second prize of Kerala State Pollution Control for excellence in pollution control by large industries in Kerala for 2009/10

Minister for Health and Social Welfare P.K. Sreemathy, who announced the awards here on Thursday, said the institutions were chosen for the awards considering their achievements in conserving environment.
